Thomas Galliano quartet

Born in Nice, France, drummer Thomas Galliano grew up in a musical family listening to the sounds of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Miles Davis. The young Galliano grew up in the rehearsal spaces of his father, guitarist Thierry Galliano’s bands – here he quickly developed his passion for music. Thierry nurtured his son’s enthusiasm by enrolling him in a Classical percussion course at the age of six. The formal training Thomas received in classical percussion led him to the drums. By the age of fifteen, Thomas was performing on stage with his father. In 2011, Thomas made his move to New York to develop a higher level of musicianship after honing his skills in Europe. He has shared the bandstand with JD Allen, Dezron Douglas, Stacy Dillard, Josh Evans, Benito Gonzalez, Tom Guarna + others, in addition to performing at NYC’s Small’s, Fat Cat, NuBlu, SOBs, DROM and internationally at The Nice Jazz Festival (France), Newport Jazz Festival (U.S), Luanda Jazz Festival (Angola), Alassio Jazz Festival (Italy) and La Note Bleue Jazz Festival (Monte Carlo), Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Kuana Jazz Festival (Lithuania). Judging by the company he keeps, this drummer is a true musician’s musician. Thomas is currently at work on his second album comprised of original compositions.
