National Cultural Offerings
One of the original missions of Federation at the time of its creation was to facilitate the Alliance Française lecture tours of well-known French personalities.
La Saison Culturelle
The Délégation générale de l'Alliance Française in Washington supports this tradition by offering a variety of guest speakers and programs to Alliance Chapters in the United States, including Lecturers and Performers. To complement the Saison Culturelle the Federation has developed a National Cultural Offerings List, the purpose of which is to give member AF's greater flexibility in organizing cultural programs according to their local calendars.
National Cultural Offerings List
The Federation Culture Committee actively seeks to identify stimulating programs that can be offered to member AFs at a modest cost. Many AFs know of local talent who might enjoy speaking or performing in other nearby cities. This List is the result of AF chapters across the country sharing their cultural resources and successful programs.

The up-to-date Federation National Cultural Offerings List can be found on the National Cultural Offerings site. Individual Alliances who wish to engage one of the programs
on the list should contact the corresponding person or group directly and work out scheduling and local arrangements. Each local AF will assume total financial responsibility for handling all details, including the honoraria, travel, lodging and entertainment of their speaker/artists.
The Federation is currently working to expand its National Cultural Offerings List of French and francophone lecturers, music, dance and theater opportunities available at a reasonable fee to perform in AF chapters in the US.
- AFs who would like to recommend new speakers or programs for this list are invited to submit suggestions using a Nomination Form. The speakers or artists will then be contacted by the Federation to confirm all agreements before their listing is posted on the web.
- Speakers and artists who wish to participate in this program are invited to nominate themselves. Self-nomination forms can be obtained by contacting federation@afusa.org.
