Charbonnier Award

The Prix Charbonnier was established in memory of Daniel Charbonnier to recognize individuals of national or international stature and reputation whose vocation or avocation has promoted French language and culture in a manner consistent with the goals and purpose of the Federation of Alliances Françaises, USA. The award is given at the Annual Meeting, but only in years when a candidate of suitable stature can be named. The recipient need not be a member of the Alliance Française.

Selection Process
The candidate is selected by the Board of Directors at least six months prior to the Annual Meeting. The local Alliance Française hosting that meeting is invited to make a nomination. It is expected that the recipient be present to receive the award in person. Suitable publicity will be generated to highlight the mission and the role of the Federation.
