Formerly a chef / restaurateur in Rouen, M. Silverstone is a specialist on the Upper Normandy region, especially regarding cuisine, art and the impact of war. His recent book, “A Mule in Rouen – a discovery of Upper Normandy” includes descriptions of local architecture, both grand and of everyday life, and presents an intriguing and amusing look at the local way of life. It also represents one man’s struggle to start a business in France and the consequences of such a venture. During 2008, M. Silverstone presented an exhibition of black & white photography at Le Musée Maritime de Rouen entitled Le Pont Flaubert – work in progress.
