Grant Eligibility Rules

PROGRAM OVERVIEW for Application due March 1, 2025

The Federation of Alliances Françaises USA offers financial assistance to its member chapters through its annual Grants Program. Chapters that meet the eligibility criteria may apply for and win a maximum of one grant each year. The annual application deadline is March 1 of each year.

Chapters may choose one from among five categories of grants available for their application:  Cultural Programs , Educational Initiatives, Infrastructure Initiatives, Morse Visibility, Youth Initiatives

Details, rules, sample projects and records of previous grants in all categories are on the Grants page. Applicants should carefully review the details for each grant category online.

The funding program is managed by a dedicated committee of the Federation board. Last year the Federation distributed to chapters over $35,000 in grants ranging from $250 to $2,000. The total budget amount is supplemented by additional funding from the National Coordinator, which is divided as needed among the five categories during the deliberations of the Grants Committee.

Applications that are approved may be funded based on the Committee evaluation (see Section II). The amount allocated depends on the merit of the project, the amount of the original request, the quality and completeness of the application, the amount of funding available, and the number of chapters submitting applications each year.

Awards are announced by email, E-Flash, IntrAlliances and the grant website by April 15. Checks are mailed after final verification of mailing addresses and no later than April 30.
